The province’s New Democrats have launched a petition towards health care worker retention as part of a new campaign.
Interim leader Jim Dinn, alongside MHAs Jordan Brown and Lela Evans introduced the ‘Stop the Bleed’ campaign at a health care town hall in Labrador West on Friday.
Residents from across the province are invited to add their name to the online petition calling on the province to focus on retention of health care workers.
Latest numbers suggest 136,000 Newfoundlanders and Labradorians are without a family doctor, with nursing vacancies seeing a 22 per cent increase in the last six months.
Dinn says it’s time to bring awareness to the gaps in the system and hold government accountable.
