A number of emergency rooms in the Eastern Health region are closed throughout this week due to staffing shortages.

The Dr. Walter Templeman Health Care Centre on Bell Island will be closed from tonight at 8:00 to Wednesday morning at 8:00 while the Dr. William H. Newhook Community Health Centre in Whitbourne will be closed for the entire week starting this morning at 8:00.

Meanwhile, there will be sporadic closures at the Bonavista Peninsula Health Centre. Starting today at 8:00 a.m., emergency services will be unavailable until Thursday morning, and then close again Friday night through the weekend.
