NL Hydro CEO Jennifer Williams says they’re pleased with the way the system performed during some record-breaking cold temperatures over the last few weeks.

Back in 2014 the province encountered #DarkNL when the system didn’t have the capacity to meet demand during a cold snap, resulting in widespread and lengthy outages.

Williams says there was plenty of capacity during peak demand through the latest deep freeze.

She jokes that “for energy nerds like us” they want to see the system tested, but that doesn’t always go so well. In this case, Williams proudly says, the system performed with “flying colours.”
