The Independent MHA for Mount Pearl says people are still struggling to secure child care.
Paul Lane says it is fine to have affordable child care, but if there are no spaces available, it is no use.
Lane says a number of people he has heard from are health care professionals looking to return to the system, but are struggling to secure daycare.
He says at least two doctors and a number of nurses have told him they want to improve the health care situation, but are forced to stay home because they cannot find child care.
He says he understands government have made efforts to recruit more early childhood educators, but it is a reality that many are unable to rejoin the workforce due to barriers securing daycare.
