A who’s who of the St. John’s music scene are coming together for a special fundraiser tonight.
Singer/songwriter and producer Cara Lee Coleman has been living with a rare, aggressive form of cancer since being diagnosed with the disease in 2018.
Unfortunately, current methods have been unable to stop its progression, so funds are being raised for alternative treatments to hopefully lead to management of the disease.
Coleman has released 15 full-length albums and several EPs, in addition to recordings with various side projects.
She was nominated for MusicNL’s alternative artist of the year in 2020 following the release of her double album, Abstracts and Anthems.
She just released her most current record and 15th self-produced album called The Mirror.
All are invited to celebrate Coleman and help her and her family through this difficult time.
Artists lending their time and talents tonight at The Ship Pub include Mick Davis & Thin Love, The Sherry Ryan Band, Kujo, The Crate Diggers, Colleen Power, and special guest Joel Thomas Hynes.
Doors open at 7:30, show starts at 9 p.m., and cover is $20 at the door.
Those who can’t make it to the show can donate to Cara’s GoFundMe page.
