The Department of Health says all 54 recommendations made in its Towards Recovery Action Plan have been implemented.
The five year plan was announced back in 2017, and since that time the province says it has created new infrastructure, a provincial stepped-care model and created several new programs and services including supports for people with long-term mental illness.
The province says more than 1,100 people with “complex mental illness” have been served to-date by a total of 15 Assertive Community Treatment Teams and Flexible Assertive Community Treatment Teams.
Sixty-six walk-in clinics across the province saw some 43,000 visits since 2017, while more than 8,500 mobile crisis response team visits have occurred over the last five years.
The Towards Recovery final evaluation report is expected to be released in the coming weeks.
