A ski club on the province’s west coast has received some upgrades to make the club more accessible and environmentally-friendly.
The Whaleback Cross Country Ski Club in Cold Brook has spent the last few years upgrading their aging site.
In efforts to become more sustainable, solar panels connected to the provincial grid were installed to allow the club to generate their own electricity and provide any surplus energy for use on the grid.
Whaleback has also installed heat pumps, LED lighting, and transformed washrooms and other common areas into accessible spaces.
The club hopes the modern upgrades will attract more visitors.
