The Minister of Service NL calls the Occupational Health and Safety investigation into the fatal flash fire at the Come By Chance refinery last September the largest ever conducted by the province.
The comment was made in response to a request for an update on the situation from the PC MHA for Placentia West-Bellevue.
Jeff Dwyer says he’s been contacted by workers worried about safety at the site, and who are looking for answers about how and why the flash fire occurred.
The incident claimed the life of one man, and sent seven others to hospital.
Minister Sarah Stoodley says the ongoing investigation is extensive, adding if charges are laid it will happen before September of 2024.
