One of two men charged in two random and violent home invasions in the capital city last fall has been sentenced to 5 and a half years in prison for his part in the crimes.
Thirty-two-year-old Justin Haynes and Jonathan Hurley were arrested after two shocking incidents on September 12th.
In one case, a homeowner on Beaumont Street was stabbed and his vehicle stolen, and in the other, an elderly couple on Maunder’s Lane was roughed up and left traumatized after they were robbed.
The crimes had a chilling effect on the entire community.
In court, Haynes was presented as a party to the crimes and not the principle player, but he still admitted to punching one of the victims.
He pleaded guilty to the charges against him. His co-accused is still awaiting trail.
