A slow moving system is bringing some big snowfall amounts to Labrador.
David Neil, a meteorologist with Environment Canada says as of this morning 38 cm of snow fell at Goose Bay and Makkovik Airport is sitting at 23 cm with more on the way.
There are snowfall warnings for today and tonight in the Upper Lake Melville and Eagle River areas where 15-25 cm is still to come.
Blizzard warning are in effect for Northern Labrador from Natuashish down to the Cartright region. Neil says winds will gust up to 100 km/h an hour creating near zero visibility at times.

He says there is still a lot more snow on the way for some areas.
Neil says 15 cm will fall on the lower scale, but the Makkovik area could see as much as 70 cm of snow.
Neil says there are also wind warnings in affect for parts of the island. Scatter sections of the east and northeast coast will see gusts up to 100 km/h. Also for the entire west coast and northern peninsula there are blowing snow advisories in effect.
