The Exploits Valley Renewable Energy Corporation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Qalipu Holdings to explore potential wind energy opportunities in central Newfoundland.

Opportunities include design, environmental impact assessment, pre-construction, construction and commercial operations.

Highlights of mutual interest include identifying Qalipu employment opportunities, establishing an inventory of foreseeable contracts and providing and assisting with procurement opportunities to the benefit of Qalipu businesses or affiliated businesses.

An Impact Benefits Agreement will also be negotiated.
