Interim no more. Jim Dinn has officially taken the reins as the leader of the Newfoundland and Labrador NDP.
Not much will change for Jim Dinn with the removal of the interim tag on his title. He resists any notion that there’s any change he can make on his own, as he believes it comes down a team approach.
Dinn was acclaimed as leader as he was the only person to submit a nomination. Dinn jokes that’s a trend as no one ran against him for the NLTA Presidency either before entering the political arena.
He says it comes down to the people, adding that just as much as it takes a village to raise a child—it takes a village to make a leader effective.
The NDP Leader says they’ll continue to urge government to show a plan to meaningfully improve healthcare and access to primary care and continue to push for guaranteed basic income.
