A legend in the world of mixed martial arts has chosen Newfoundland and Labrador as the spot to launch his new brand of vodka.
UFC hall of famer Georges St-Pierre was in the province yesterday for the market launch of Pur Sang Vodka.
He toured the NLC’s Rock Spirits distillery on Kenmount Road where the product is being bottled, before meeting with fans at the Howley Estates liquor store.
St-Pierre says the product has been in the works for some time, noting that he chose to be part of the project after doing a blind testing at his agent’s house.

St-Pierre had some positive words about the NLC’s operations.
He says he’s fortunate to have been able to meet the distillery workers, noting that they put their hearts into their jobs.
This wasn’t St-Pierre’s first visit to Newfoundland and Labrador, but he does joke about one thing he wishes he had time to do—take a dip in the Atlantic Ocean.
