World Energy GH2 is responding to concerns raised about the potential impact to water in the area of Mainland.
Dwight Cornect with the Mainland Local Service District told VOCM Open Line with Paddy Daly that John Risley has suggested that problems with the LeCointre’s Brook reservoir predate work at the site, but he disagrees.
Cornect says they haven’t had any issues with the main reservoir since reconstruction work on the water main was completed in 2015.
World Energy GH2 says it does not know why the Mainland LSD since decided to shut the water off for three days and close the local Francophone school.
In a release issued following Cornect’s appearance on Open Line, the company says local residents have been drawing water from the brook since the water shut down. The water supply is being monitored by the provincial government and DFO, and the company says if there were issues with their operations, they would be notified.
