The wrangling over the price of snow crab this season continues, albeit now away from media.
The FFAW has been vocal about its concerns over a price that came in at less than $3 a pound.
But as negotiations continue, and following Saturday’s second crack at price submissions by the union and Association of Seafood Producers, both sides have agreed to a blackout on further details until they arrive at a final price.
The FFAW says it prides itself on communicating updates to members as quickly as possible while being mindful not to jeopardize its position.
Snow crab is one of the most valuable fisheries in the province and is a major contributor to the overall $1.6 billion fishing industry.
