The RCMP is confirming that thirty-five-year-old Francis Mercer of Bell Island, who was wanted on an arrest warrant last week, has been taken into custody.

Mercer was wanted after breaching conditions of being in the Bell Island area and having contact with previous assault victims.

He will appear in court today
