The Privacy Commissioner has made recommendations against the town of Port au Port East after he says they did not comply with ATIPP regulations.

According to Michael Harvey, a complainant made five access requests to the town, but they did not respond to the requests within the required timeframe, which is considered to be a refusal of access.

Harvey has found that the town did not comply with the legislated regulations, and has recommended that the town provide a response to the person within 20 business days.

As well, he has made numerous other recommendations to the town related to policies and training under the legislation.
