The provincial government says three meetings have been held with the FFAW regarding concerns associated with the price set for snow crab this season.
The Fish Price Setting Panel has set the price this year at $2.20 a pound, and many harvesters say they simply can’t fish at that price.
The union met yesterday with Premier Andrew Furey and ministers Derrick Bragg and Bernard Davis.
The provincial government tells VOCM News that it is following the matter, and hopes that market conditions improve.
