An NHL player from this province is firing up the fans before the first game of their playoff series.
Dawson Mercer of the New Jersey Devils has penned a letter in The Players’ Tribune, an online publication that hosts articles written by athletes.

The article, titled “Devils Fans, I Need a Favor”, recounts Mercer’s experience during a successful season for both the Devils and himself.
Mercer ends the article by asking fans to “go ahead and feel free to absolutely lose your minds when that puck drops”.
The Devils take on the New York Rangers in the first round of the playoffs at 8:30 p.m. tonight.
