An iconic fixture in downtown St. John’s is officially off the market.
A buyer from outside the province will officially take ownership of three of the Four Sisters properties by the end of the month.
Councillor and realtor Debbie Hanlon hinted at the properties becoming short-term rentals, but isn’t quite sure what the new owner’s intentions are, except to say the interior would be getting a much needed makeover.
She says the new owner will be a female developer who has connections to the province. With the details she has so far, she believes the major investment planned for the inside will create “something spectacular.”
The properties had been on the market for quite some time, but Hanlon says it wasn’t due to a lack of interest in the property and it’s “haunted” history.
“There were more calls than you could shake a stick at,” said Hanlon. “In my 30 year career, they were the most interesting properties I’ve ever had.” Hanlon had visitors at the properties all the time, whether it be a viewing or someone looking to connect with spirits through the use of tarot cards and spiritual readings. “Just about anyone who wanted to see them, I let them in because I believe it’s a piece of Newfoundland heritage as well.”
