After two years of virtual events, the organization which encourages and helps facilitate women entrepreneurs has come together in person.
Premier Andrew Furey and Minister Lisa Dempster address the NLOWE convention in St. John’s this morning.

Dempster says an entrepreneur works 18 hours a day for themselves instead eight hours for somebody else. She said the theme, “Be Bold, Be Brave, Be Brilliant” is indicative of the tenacity of NLOWE and its members, especially on the back side of the pandemic.
Dempster also touched on her government’s commitment to women entrepreneurs.
She notes that it wasn’t so long ago that she was the only female on an otherwise all-male team but that the Premier gets it and now there are several women in the Legislature.
NLOWE CEO Jennifer Bessel says they have come through a lot the past two years with the pandemic and changing technology, and now it’s time to celebrate.
Patricia Lovett-Reid, former CTV News chief financial commentator and certified financial planner, will deliver the keynote address tomorrow.
