RCMP are providing an update on a year-long major drug investigation that they say disrupted a drug trafficking and organized crime ring on the province’s west coast.
The RCMP-RNC Joint Forces Operation West started its operation in March of last year. Since then multiple investigations have taken place, including search warrants on 15 homes in Deer Lake, Corner Brook and surrounding area.
Twenty-four people have been arrested and charged with a total of 71 charges laid.
According to police, most of those charges relate to possession for the purpose of trafficking. Other charges include four firearms-related charges, weapons offences, possession of stolen property and possession of controlled substances.
