Cain’s Quest will begin accepting registration for the next snowmobile endurance race tentatively set for 2024.
This year’s race was abruptly cancelled after unseasonably warm weather created hazardous conditions for participants.
Not long after the race was cancelled, board members started floating the idea of putting off a 2024 race, a full year ahead of the regular two-year schedule.
Cain’s Quest Board Chair Chris Lacey says feedback has been positive.
He says their phones and emails “haven’t stopped ringing.”
Whether the race goes ahead next year will be contingent on securing funding, but Lacey says they’re feeling positive. Registration opens May 1 to get the ball rolling on planning. Teams are encouraged to submit their registration online.
