The city of Mount Pearl has unveiled its new strategic plan that will take them up to 2027.
Mayor Dave Aker gave the first details of the plan at a Mount Pearl-Paradise Chamber of Commerce luncheon yesterday.
Ultimately, he says they want to make sure people have access to the right resources such as fitness, lifestyle, recreation and jobs.
In terms of how the city will achieve that, Aker says they have been building their plan over the last several years.
He says they intend to revise their Municipal Plan so they can improve their development regulations to grow the city.
Director with the Mount Pearl-Paradise Chamber of Commerce, Michele O’Rielly, says there is lots of potential there.
She believes it will help local businesses address some of their current challenges such as recruitment of staff. She says the city’s plans to attract more residents will hopefully have a positive impact on employment.
