The provincial government says it’s too early to tell whether the Public Service Alliance strike will result in delays in processing times for permanent residency applications.
Newfoundland and Labrador has put a real push on in recent years to attract newcomers.
Last year the province established a help desk in Poland for Ukrainians escaping the war. It’s resulted in an influx of well over a thousand newcomers in the last year.
The province says any possible delays in processing of applications through Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada would depend on the length of job action.
