As of this year, Butter Pot Provincial Park will be running on solar power.
The provincial government says the park will be converted to solar power this year, replacing its reliance on diesel generators.
Similar conversions were made at Barachois Pond and Sir Richard Squires Memorial Provincial Parks last season.
Government says the work will significantly reduce the parks’ carbon footprint and reduce noise pollution.
Other improvements at provincial camping parks include new accessible playgrounds, and the launch of Connect Pass—which allows provincial public library card holders to book a free day-use vehicle pass.
Campsite reservations open this Wednesday at 7:00 a.m.
Reservations can be made online or by calling 1-877-214-2267.
