As the Newfoundland Growlers wait to come home to complete their round one series against the Adirondack Thunder, that bit of down time may actually play in the team’s favour.
The Growlers are up 2-1 in the series.
The next game in the series, and the first on home ice, was supposed to be tonight but that had to be postponed due to poor weather conditions and flight cancellations.
Now, tonight’s game will take place on Thursday, with the other scheduled game happening Sunday.
Growlers broadcaster Chris Ballard says the team is still waiting to come home in Montreal, and there is a way to “spin that into a positive.”
He says the team spending some quality time together and getting some down time is a good thing. As well, now the fans will get a pair of Thursday/Sunday games, which will hopefully get more fans in the stands and create a better atmosphere.
◼️ REVISED ROUND ONE SCHEDULE ◼️
Due to adverse travel conditions impacting both teams, the remainder of the North Division Semifinal schedule between the Growlers and the Adirondack Thunder has been revised.
