The stars were out in the capital city for a special screening of Disney’s newest movie, shot in part in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Peter Pan and Wendy hits Disney+ Friday, and to celebrate a red carpet event was held at the Scotiabank theatre last night for an exclusive screening.

The shores of Trinity, Bonavista, Spiller’s Cove and Cape St. Mary’s become “Neverland” in the most recent adaptation of the J.M. Barrie novel.
Disney representatives, crew, local politicians and members of the cast from this province strutted the rouge before getting an early peak at the film.
Aaliyah Short, who is featured in the film as a double, says it’s surreal to be a part of the production.
She says she cannot explain how incredible she feels to be in a Disney film.

Producer of the film, Jim Whitaker, who battled through the fog to touch down just prior to the event, says he sees a bright future for the Walt Disney Company and Newfoundland and Labrador.
He says the local crew certainly has the capability, and the natural beauty make it very likely bigger films will shoot in the province.
Whitaker says the province made the perfect “Neverland.”
He says the incredible cliffs and beaches felt like the Neverland director David Lowery envisioned.
