Prices at Marine Atlantic are going up as of June 1.
As of that date, the organization will be introducing a new fuel surcharge program that will see the rate go from 13 per cent to 17 per cent.
Marine Atlantic says the new formula is tied to the average fuel price paid by Marine Atlantic, and will be updated twice a year—on June 1 and December 1.
They say the surcharge will be applied at the time of booking and not at the time of travel.
Details related to fuel purchases and the corresponding rates will be published on Marine Atlantic’s website by June 1.
