A Disney movie filmed in part in this province releases tomorrow.
“Peter Pan and Wendy” drops on Disney+ Friday, with Newfoundland and Labrador standing in for Never Land in the latest adaptation of J.M. Barrie’s classic novel.
Mark Sexton of the Newfoundland and Labrador Film Development Corporation says the production marks a pivot point for the industry in the province.
He says the new All-Spend tax credit is tailored to bigger production companies coming in from outside of the province for massive projects like Disney has. He says with the high demand for content from a variety of streaming service, they are well positioned going forward.)
Sexton estimates around 100 people from this province were employed on the shoot, with everything from transportation, to catering , to members of the film crew coming from the island.
