The largest federal strike in Canada’s history is over for most of the strikers, but not all.
The 155,000 workers walked out nearly two weeks ago. Hundreds rallied on Friday outside cabinet minister Seamus O’Regan’s office on Topsail Road.
The Public Service Alliance of Canada announced overnight it has reached a tentative contract agreement with the Treasury Board. The union says the four-year deal includes wage increases totaling over 12 per cent, as well as significant new protections around remote work and contracting out.
But the strike is not over for members of the CRA. The union says negotiations for the unit representing 35,000 CRA workers continue.
