The province will formally mark an historic occasion this weekend.
The Coronation of King Charles III will take place this Saturday, May 6.
It’s the first Coronation ceremony in the British Commonwealth since Queen Elizabeth was crowned in 1953.
Premier Andrew Furey says the occasion is being marked to acknowledge and celebrate the close ties between King Charles and Canada as well as the role that the Canadian Crown plays in the country’s system of governance.

Furey says King Charles and the Queen Consort share a number of important values with the province including service, the environment, sustainability and diversity and their vision of a clean, green, sustainable future.
To mark the occasion, one thousand seedlings from the Wooddale Provincial Tree Nursey will be distributed across the province and will be available free to the public.
Government House and Confederation Building will also be bathed in green light this Saturday an Sunday.
