The RNC have arrested and charged Phillip Pynn in connection with a recent drug bust at HMP.
Thirty-seven-year-old Pynn, who has a long and extensive criminal record, was arrested on April 20 and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine, fentanyl and bromazolam (also known as Xanax) and failure to comply with a court order.
The investigation was launched after RNC responded to HMP in January to investigate after multiple packages of unknown substances were seized after a body cavity search of an inmate.
Police received confirmation in March that three of the packages contained a fentanyl and Xanax mixture, while the fourth contained cocaine.
A total of 72 grams of fentanyl and Xanax were seized, along with 20 grams of cocaine with a street value of approximately $30,000.
