The provincial government is moving on to the next steps of establishing a province-wide ambulance service.
The move to consolidate 60 separate road ambulance services was first announced in the 2023 budget, with $9 million set aside for the process.
Three separate requests for proposals have been issued for consultants as part of the next phase of that process.
RFPs have also been issued for technical, fairness and helicopter emergency medical service planning advisors who will help guide the process in the future.

As well, the department is also retaining advisors to help develop service requirements for the new system.
Submissions for the RFPs are due at the end of the month.
Government anticipates the contracts for consultants being awarded over the summer, and recommendations from the technical and helicopter emergency medical service planning advisors tp be received later this year.
