It’s been a long time in the works but the province’s first end-of-life care centre will soon be open in Grand Falls-Windsor.
Construction on the Lionel Kelland Hospice began last April and according to a news release issued this morning, is now in its final stages and is expected to be open by this fall.
The modern, fully-equipped, 2,400 square metre residence will attend to the needs of palliative patients and provide support to their families.
It will include ten private resident suites, and spaces that allow families to be together with their loved ones.
Painting and floor installation is now underway, with the elevators to be installed in the coming weeks.
