A safe haven for adults with mental health, addictions and other illness officially has a new home.
The Pottle Centre has been operating at its new digs on Water Street West since late last year but held its grand opening yesterday.
Founded back in 1980, the drop-in social centre provides a safe and healthy environment while promoting recovery and wellness.

Executive director Leanne Lewis says they are seeing more people with serious social anxiety.
“We’ve always seen people coming through our doors with anxiety but it’s always been coupled with something else…depression or addictions or anything like that,” says Lewis. “But now often times anxiety is the one diagnosis that they have and it’s severe.”
Lewis noted the new building comes with a lift which now makes the centre accessible to all.
The Pottle Centre operates with funding from all levels of government, plus corporate donations and sponsorships, fundraising, grants and support from various charitable organizations.
