A local activist for people with autism is the recipient of the second annual Jim and Ginette Munson Canadian Autism Leadership Award.
Tom Jackman recently received the honour at the Canadian Autism Leadership Summit in Ottawa.
Jackman has received numerous accolades for his work and his been invited to speak at many conferences, including the Geneva Centre for Autism Conference in Toronto—which is described as being one of the top autism conferences in the world.
Jackman says it feels great to be recognized for his work.
He hopes his activism can help pave a path for future generations and make things easier for people who are just being diagnosed.
