A vessel from the French navy is docked in St. John’s this week during a stop-over meant to strengthen ties with Canadian search and rescue officials.
The PSP Fulmar patrol boat, based in the French islands of St. Pierre et Miquelon, is part of the French navy’s naval action force.
The Fulmar, which has a crew of 11, has been conducting joint training with the Royal Canadian Air Force, including the winching of personnel and equipment from the deck of the ship by a Cormorant helicopter.
The Fulmar will received the public and members of the media on Tuesday May 9.
