A local seafood processor and retailer doesn’t believe the current issues plaguing the fishing industry will impact supply for his business.
Labrador Gem Seafoods recently began selling some of their product out of St. John’s International.
President Danny Dumaresque says they aren’t currently experiencing any supply issues, but does hope that crab harvesters can get back on the water soon.
He says their main item is scallops, so as long as that industry remains active, there is no cause for concern.
