The province has announced funding for a warm line dedicated specifically to first responders.
Lifewise NL has been given $236,000 to pilot the project for one year.
It will be available 12 hours a day, and will be staffed by first responders who are trained in the delivery of peer support.
Government says a survey administered by the Paramedic Mental Health Working group found that 78 percent of people would access dedicated peer support if it were available.
They say that by providing such mental health support to paramedics, it will help them support others who need it.
