It’s unlikely to cause any air quality issues but smoke from the Alberta wildfires is wafting across the country and could end up over Newfoundland and Labrador.
The wildfires have been burning out of control for weeks with smoke alerts out for many provinces.
David Neal, a meteorologist with Environment Canada, says the smoke would likely be too high aloft to be noticeable.
In most cases the smoke would be unnoticeable, especially where there is cloud cover. However, in some cases we may notice some hazy conditions.
About 17,000 Albertans remain out of their homes. Newfoundland and Labrador is sending personnel and equipment to help out.
