The Valentine Lake Gold Mine in central Newfoundland is on track for first gold in early 2025.
Marathon Gold Corporation gave an update yesterday on the project, which is located about 80 km from Millertown.
Some 500 people will be employed at the mine during the production phase. About 440 are currently employed at the site.
The project comprises a series of mineralized deposits along a 20 km trend.
Matt Manson, President and CEO, calls central Newfoundland one of the top mining jurisdictions in the world.
He says they’ll produce up to 200,000 ounces per year. The project is 27 per cent completed, which is on schedule.
