The RCMP held a recruitment drive yesterday to fill some policing gaps in the province.
The federal force recently put out the call on social media, resulting in more interest than they bargained for.
In the end, just over 50 potential future Mounties were treated to a career-fair atmosphere at RCMP headquarters in St. John’s yesterday.

Corporal Peter Gosse says it’s a job like no other.
“It’s a job where you can make a difference in people’s lives,” he said. “Obviously, responding to calls for service is one thing, but there are so many other good things you can do for communities, being there for youth. The job is what you make it, and that’s really what intrigued me to join the RCMP.”
