The City of Corner Brook has announced the details of its second annual Jigs and Wheels Festival to take place in the Bay of Islands and Humber Valley region from July 28 to August 6.
Mayor Jim Parsons says last year’s event proved to be a great success and huge boost to tourism in the region and they’re hoping this year’s ten day festival will be even better.
Parsons says back by popular demand are events like Blame it on Broadway, a car show, Corner Brook Day celebrations and a series of ATV events including a scavenger hunt.
Added to this year’s festival are an autocross event at the Corner Brook Civic Centre, a dirt bike and electric bike show at Marble Mountain, and a food and ATV tour in Lark Harbour.

Parsons says he’s most excited about a new focus on their strategic tourism for areas and regions (or STAR) program incorporating the entire region.
He says they’re happy to include both sides of the Bay of Islands, using the Party on the Hill in Massey Drive as an example. “Their success is our success, and that’s the way we have to think about tourism in this region.”
Council has approved the use of ATVs on nearly every road in Corner Brook for the entirety of the event except for a portion of O’Connell Drive.
