St. John’s is hosting the Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society’s 57th annual congress this week.
The national society is comprised of people and organizations dedicated to advancing atmospheric and oceanic sciences and related environmental disciplines in Canada.
The society’s premier event is the annual scientific congress, which attracts hundreds of participants from across Canada and around the world.
Industry, Energy and Technology Minister Andrew Parsons will address the gathering on behalf of the provincial government this afternoon at 12:30 p.m. at Sheraton Hotel Newfoundland in downtown St. John’s.
