The St. John’s Status of Women Council is looking at ways to expand their Managed Alcohol Program.

The program provides people with a safe and stable supply of alcohol, along with social and health care support.

It was first introduced as a pilot program in 2021, but Executive Director Lisa Faye says the initiative has now moved past that stage.

She says they’re looking at who else needs that program. Faye explains that they only serve women and non-binary people, so they’re considering expanding the service to others who need it in the community.
