Recycle My Electronics is celebrating 10 years in Newfoundland and Labrador.
In the decade since its inception in this province, the Electronic Products Recycling Association has seen almost 7,500 tonnes of e-waste diverted from landfills.
The organization held a 10-year celebration ceremony earlier today, and welcomed industry and government partners, as well as grade 2 students from Octagon Pond Elementary.
The program has 61 drop-off areas, with each of them no more than a 45 minute drive away from residents.
Program director for Newfoundland and Labrador, Michelle Marley, says increasing accessibility and convenience has led to the success of the program, however there is still work to be done.
