The environment and climate change minister is outlining the challenges faced in Newfoundland and Labrador when it comes to recycling.
The province has been steadily making progress in terms of boosting recycling, however it still lags slightly behind other provinces in Canada.
Minister Bernard Davis says one of the major challenges is population density.
He says we have a landmass but a smaller population that most scales are based on. He gives the example of recycling tires, where we don’t have the population to support various facilities but use too many to ship off in a small container.
