The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is investigating after multiple vehicle were stolen on the Northeast Avalon in recent weeks.
The Constabulary says they have received numerous reports to that effect, and all investigations remain active.
They are urging residents to store their keys either inside their home or on their person at all times, and to lock their vehicles while unattended.
Police believe that those responsible are checking vehicles and attempting to start them in hopes that the key fob is inside.
They are asking people to keep valuables out of sight in their homes and vehicles, and to make sure their home is secure.
Any suspicious activity, such as unusual cars parked in the area or people accessing private property, should be reported to the RNC or Crime Stoppers.
