Salmon angling season is now open on the island.

The 2023 season is now open until September 7, with the season in Labrador beginning on June 15 until September 15.

Those hoping to partake in salmon angling are being reminded that salmon should not be touched or removed from the water. Intentional hooking and releasing should not be done when water temperatures are above 18 degrees Celsius.

Salmon licenses are available at a number of stores across the province. A list of rules and regulations can be found on the Government of Canada’s website.
